How to change the Windows 7 Library Icon

As the first step navigate to the following path whereas USERNAME is the name of your user account of your PC.

C:\Users\USERNAME\AppData\Roaming\Microsoft\Windows\Libraries

Then open the notapad and drag the library you want to change the icon.

If you dragged a library which came with Windows 7, you will find the following tag:

iconReferenceimagesres.dll,-1002iconReference

Then locate the complete path (e.g. C:icon.ico) of the icon file which you want to use for the library and paste it instead of the highlighted section of the above tag.

However, if you dragged a new library which you have created, you will not find the iconReference tag. Therefore, you need to add it after the isLibraryPinned tag.

Finally, press ctrl+S to save the changes you have done. And that's it. You have changed the Windows 7 library icon!
